New to Reception 2021
Welcome to Seacroft Grange Primary School. We are proud to be a Good school (Ofsted, February 2020). We are a school that invests in GOLD standard, wanting the best for and best from everyone in our learning community.
We are really proud of our Early Years provision and we work hard to give your child the very best start to their school life. Education in Early Years is focussed on developing your child to be confident, resilient and a problem solver. While we do focus on Reading, Writing and Maths as core subjects, these are taught through a play based approach that encourages children to be active learners. Starting school is a big transition and one that we work hard to make sure is supportive and welcoming. We embrace natural resources and decoration in our early years classroom, using wood, hessian and plants to create a calm, welcoming and home-like environment for our children. Inside, you'll find different areas of provision - maths, writing, reading, role play, science, water, sand, construction, a workshop and much more. A lot of the learning in Early years takes place outside and you will see exactly the same areas as you would inside plus a mud kitchen, water play, Reading den and large construction.
Although we cannot allow visits into classrooms right now for social distancing reasons, you will be welcome to come to a short tour inside the school when the national lockdown restrictions have been lifted. In the meantime please take a look at our welcome video; viewing the classroom, outdoor space, hall, library and areas our pupils are not using during this phase of school opening. We are also very proud of our developing nature school / calm circle for reflection time which takes place in our extensive outdoor space, which you will see in the video.
We hope you be able to welcome you, in person, for a personal tour as soon as we can do safely. There will be alternative transition arrangements in place - details of which can be found below (Summer Transition Package)
